Paternal is a horror game set in a poorly maintained family house. On this project, I was in charge of creating a 3D environment and integrating our 3D objects and animations in Unreal Engine, in a semi-realistic style that is both consistent and tense.

Below you will find the integration and 3D design steps of the project. (Architectural plans, concept art, blockout, texturing, prop modeling, character integration, animation integration)

Before modeling the house, I made architectural plans, which allowed me to take precise measurements so I could then model the house with the right dimensions.

Once the architectural plans were approved, I created concept art of the house to define the overall atmosphere of the place.

I then modeled the overall shape of the house and imported it into Unreal Engine. This let us check whether the player could move around the house easily.

During my design work in Blender, I prepared the walls to receive textures in Unreal Engine using UV mapping and materials.

For more complex textures, I baked the textures directly in Blender.

Then, I created 3D assets in Blender, which I exported as FBX files to integrate them into the house.

Finally, I integrated the animations and characters into Unreal Engine.
